LIP, the first part just defines a swap
The second part lays the rule down!
So, no I wont be running against any B18C civics, and most likely no b16 civics, unless they are the new Si's, so yes, I do have a sweep in mind!

CivicR, I am going to try and hit every NIRA race this year.....first one is in Palmdale I think....that is in March..I hit 14.2's and 14.0's on crappy street tires with stock exhaust and full interior, so I think I have a shot at mid-low 13's right now no prob
crom..read it again...its a contradiction.
swap=....motor wasn't available for that car
swap must be for that year make model etc? makes no sense.
oh..and come to NJ. haha
Crom ur a joke, by they way i think the march event is an idra event. if u come to palmdale, i can't wait to see u get smoked. remember, this is the west, ur bud mark brauning would get smoked out here.
haha CROM.. funny guy.. youre SC will NOT beat a car with a swap.. what is your best time so far?? from what ive read the only one in here with a legitimate change of hitting 12's is 1fstgsr.. why? becuase hes the only one who's even come close.. 13.2 is a great time.. JRCivic is also fast too.. but hes kinda in a different league (swap, chasis, etc.) and if you do come to cali i know of a hand full of all motor full interior cars that will handle your car quite nicely..however, i do admire your confidence.

At this point in time, SC's CAN do more if people just tuned them better AND used the newer blowers available from Endyn. It's not proven but the items are there for someone to take them to the top.

Crom the there is noway ur friend mark is gonna runs 9's . give me a break calling me and other amateurs, u must be smoking so good stuff to think a all motor car is going to run 9's at this time, esp. mark brauning, im not saying allmotors will never hit 9's but mark is 11.4 isn't he, u dumb moderator, how's he gonna knock off 2 sec??? i mean it took him long enough to even hit 11's. read some books man, u think its that easy to run 9's???
CHILL!!! Guys, where all on the same side here, aren't we? Let's not get into some pissin' contest over the writing of this new class definition. This board has managed to provide me and others with very useful info, let's not turn it into a useless macho "my-nutz-are-bigger-than-yours-and-I'll-beat-your-ass" forum....K?

I'm not saying SC don't have their merits, I'm just saying maximum power isn't one of them. Much in the same way my car has merits over a Z28, top end not being one of them in its stock form. I also said, "More power to you." I'd love to see you beat the fastest turbo cars, or get within' a few 10ths of a second. That would impress me. I'd gladly eat my words if you could do that http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif
And let me throw something else out: turbo's have a parasitic loss too. You don't think a turbo sitting in the exhaust stream robs some power? Either one could eat 30hp... Granted turbos use that energy more efficiently, it's not the only reason why turbos make more power/pound of boost... You need to get some cooling in there, a good intercooler can give up to 30% power gain, especially in the higher boost spectrum.
I wasn't/am not trying to start any shit. I respect the fact you're using a SC, I just think you have an uphill battle.
Oh, someone said I assume SC is old tech? I'm not assuming, orders of magnitude more funds have been directed into turbo research. I don't remember the exact number of 10s of millions of dollars F1 teams alone dumped into turbo technology back in the 80s, but it's impressive. Unfortunately, since so many racing bodies limited/regulated turbo use the advancement of turbo technology has not seen the great strides made back in the 80s. Very interesting topic for me http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif
You know, since so many rules have been imposed on racing nowadays, I think the trend of race technology -> street technology has slowed down. It's kinda sad. Now it seems like street tech works it way up into race tech. Things like active differentials, ABS, dynamic body shape for aeodynamics, computer aided everything, etc. have been outlawed. The friggin' street version of a McClaren F1 is more sophisticated than the race version... Sad.
Enough ranting.

I don't believe your outburst was warranted...but:
I'd still like to know why a FI application isn't running with Turbo and NOS guys. That's funny as hell!!!!!! I'd like to see the SC in that playing field...you know...."all things being equal"?
To be honest with you....NIRA is beggining to suck with the stipulations they are putting on these classes...its not broken down properly. I've had numerous conversations with Craig Lieberman in particular at NIRA..and i know where they want to go with this....but keeping a SC away from Turbo and NOS is oh so stupid. They want the sport to grow..and they don't want anyone to dominate(trust me..the SC won't)...so why not allow the SC to struggle to overcome their boost shortcomings...ie grow? I mean...its certainly better then last year...i ran against full hybrid race cars. Now at least all i gotta do is beat a SC. If you think a NA civic SI can't cut it...your wrong. Don't get your panties in a bunch if you "don't dominate". I should be at about 200whp+ and maybe 145+ lbs of torque now...so don't think its going to be easy....and i'm just one guy. I ran 13.3 with 173whp. My point is...arrogance sucks...its a sport..not a dual to the death.

94' GSR-R?, low 13's NA and counting down. 12's in da Spring or bust!!
oh boy, mark brauning and his tube chassis 1300 lb. car making 300HP all motor ... I've heard about it, 9's will take a whole lotta test and tune... even when Papidakis finished his car it took 1/2 the season to get it to run straight ...
anyways, the Super 4 class was build for people like me, hybrid cars, so CRX or Civic h/b with a DOHC VTEC motor that only came in an Integra chassis, 92-95 Del Sol chassis and 99-2000 Civic Si Chassis ... if I had my way, I'd argue that the "Civic" Del Sol is the same generation as a CX H/B and so I deserve to be runnign in the Comp 4 class wil an all motor setup ... LOL
anyways, this is what you're facing, all the dudes with Integra GSRs with boltons and nuff mods, race in the COMP 4 class, all the dudes with Hybrids and all the dudes with JRSC (Integras, Civics with original motors) run int he SUPER 4 class, i.e. run against CHEETAH ...

Reading is a good thing, you guys obviously dont know how to do it....
Call NIRA for yourselves and ask them.....YOU CAN NOT RUN A B18C HYBRID in the SUPER 4 CLASS.....only engines that were available for cars for that model, read the damned rules!!!
You amateurs...jeez.....
I am sick of this crap, read the above posts, and realize your mistakes, as for Mark, he he he....you guys have no idea what he is doing, can you say 9's all motor???????
And by the way GSR-98, there is a NIRA race in Florida in March........
[This message has been edited by CROM (edited March 01, 2000).]
CROM there is no need to get on someone like that ...I have talked to NIRA and clarified the whole deal on engine swaps!!...read the new post im sure you wont be calling all of us amateurs now...see you at the races...haha
